A Life in Paint
They always say if life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Well, life has given me my fair share of lemons, in fact, I think sometimes I've gotten my share and someone else's too! One of the sourest lemons I've been served was in 2015. Many of my older collectors know this, but for those of you that are just discovering me, in May of 2015, someone came right into my home studio, which was also my home, and stole 13 of my original paintings. This person just busted their way in while we were away, took them right off my walls and away they went to parts unknown. They took nothing else of value; in fact they walked right past no less than 2 laptops, a big flat screen television, a giant jar of change an IPad and another tablet. We reported the theft to the police and we advertised far and wide, publicizing the stolen pieces in an effort to prevent the thief from being able to sell them. The works were never recovered.
Aside from the obvious feelings of violation and insecurity that go along with the realization that some jerk invaded your private sanctuary, I was pissed off! Pissed off because THIS was personal! Personal to me because these were, in my opinion, some of my very finest works up to that point.
I spent a long time being angry, but it's time to stop being angry and time to take my power back. Through the magic of my having taken photos of each painting as they were completed, and the magic of Zazzle.com, I can now share these stolen works with you. That thief may have thought he was taking something away from me, and from the world, but surprise......those pieces live on now and I'm just gonna keep on truckin'! As for my own personal cat burglar, when you feel that strange sensation, like someone or something is biting you from behind..... don't bother turning around, it's just Karma, baby!
