Remember when you were a kid? I do. In fact, I make a point to not lose that kid. You see, he helps me paint. He also helps me to not be a total adult douchebag. He enables me to keep some of my innocence, makes me keep my art honest, inspires me and generally helps me be a happier person. He is the courageous one, the risk-taker, the clown and the one who will say, "Screw it, I'll do it, anyway!" THIS is when we get to see the really good stuff! We get to see what's behind that curtain. We get to evolve in our imagination. Without an imagination, we don't stand a chance.
So, next time that annoying voice in your head says you better not do that, even though there is no danger ahead, tell it to shut up. You just never know what amazing things you will see on the child's road. Take the hand of your child-self, start walking, forgive yourself for the times you allowed someone or something to hurt your child-self, and you and your child-self may merge. You two might just accomplish TRULY great things. X
