I'm a creature of the night. I always have been. When the sun goes down, I come alive. For me, the night time is the right time.
One of the most beautiful things in the world to me is a full moon, shining above the water and it's reflection shimmering on the waves, almost dancing. It's so peaceful, nothing but you, the moon and the water. There's not a sound. Everyone else is tucked away in their beds and you have the whole world to yourself. For a few brief moments, it's yours and yours alone; you don't have to share.
Close your eyes and inhale the crisp, clean night air. So fresh. Let the silence wrap you in it's warm embrace and let the stress of everyday life effortlessly melt away.
That's what this painting is to me. I call it Moonlight Voyage. It's one of my few oil pieces and it really sparkles. I'm so pleased with it because it perfectly captures that magical feeling of being transported to a calmer, more spiritual plane by the light of the moon on the water.
