Welcome to the rebirth of my blog. I retired "Life In Paint" some time ago after running out of things to say. But now, I'm in a new place with new things to paint and new things to say. Never in my life did I think I'd move west! Seriously, I never even considered it. My life plan was to escape Ontario and retreat to what I knew, the ocean, the east coast. That didn't happen and I'm so glad ! We took a chance, on a wing and a prayer and found ourselves in the most unlikely place. In that, we found home. Not just a home, as in a dwelling but "home," a place and a community that feels right - small town Saskatchewan. Yeah, I know, I can hardly believe it myself, but it's true. Over the past few weeks, I've seen some of the most beautiful landscapes and skies. I've met some of the most genuine, friendly and welcoming people I've ever met. And, get this, I ate the best Chinese food I have ever had! I'm not kidding, I had to come to a teeny-tiny prairie town of 242 people to get decent Chinese take-out! This place is like going back in time 35 years. People are polite and considerate. They're open to newcomers. It's a place that feels like anything and everything is possible. I wasn't even here a month before I was given a solo show and allowed to place my art in a local gift shop (thank you Morse Museum and Cultural Centre: morsemuseum.weebly.com/). Oh, and Rudy gets a yard... ![]() It's beautiful, quiet, clean and safe - the perfect place to create. I can't wait to see what I come up with when my new paint is delivered. Stay tuned...
